Our Mission

Castlebay Lane Charter is a Gold Ribbon elementary school dedicated, through its curricular programs and educational opportunities, to educate, challenge, and inspire our students to reach their full potential. This is accomplished through our unique community based partnership.

Castlebay Lane Hosts Astronomy Night

Castlebay Lane hosted Astronomy Night on November 16, 2018. Members of the Santa Clarita Astronomy Club brought 4 powerful telescopes. Attendees were able to see very vivid images of the Moon, Mars, and Saturn.

Moon Rocks Visit Castlebay Lane

Castlebay Lane was able to have Moon Rocks and Meteorites from NASA for two weeks in early October. Mr. Garringer had to attend special training at JPL to become Moon Rock and Meteorite certified to be able to request the materials from NASA. After two weeks the Moon Rocks and Meteorites had to be sent back to NASA.

Writing Night Parent Workshop

Do you think you can’t write? Do you want to know how to help your child become an effective writer? Come to the Writing Night Parent Workshop on Friday, November 2nd from 6 to 7:30 pm in the Library. Gold Ribbon Award

On Monday, April 2, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson announced the 2018 California Distinguished Schools. Castlebay Lane Charter was one of seventeen LAUSD schools to receive the Gold Ribbon Award.

Thank you to our Porter Ranch Neighborhood Council!

Our students LOVED the "Blankets of Love Assembly" where they shared pet stories, reviewed how to properly take care of their pets, and participated in activities that stimulated compassion and empathy for homeless pets and animal shelters.

Engineering and Science Night

Castlebay Lane hosted its Engineering and Science Night on February 2, 2018. Students designed, engineered, and tested a variety of creations including: telephones, apple carriers, catapults, and lunar landers.

The Castlebay Lane Charter Elementary School's 2018 - 2019 Science Fair will be held on March 21, 2019. Attached is information regarding the Science Fair Projects.

Lost & Found Deadline 2-21-18

Our LOST & FOUND Center has been temporarily relocated to the front of the school. Please check for any lost items, BEFORE February 21st, as the school plans to donate any unclaimed clothing, lunch boxes, and water bottles to the homeless shelter.
